Silver Chloride

Hey guys!!

I am just starting to get more involved at work in our PGM lab and I was wondering if anyone can confirm if the following fact is true or not.

When dealing with samples containing silver, if you don't keep the silver up in solution, the silver chloride will drag other elements out of solution with it?

Your feed back would be grateful

Thanks

Dave, in general that doesn't sound right.
For instance, if you dissolve your assay beads in aqua regia, the gold stays in solution but some of the silver is precipitated as silver chloride.

But, it would be easy enough to check. Filter the solids out and have them assayed for the element of interest.

Yeah it didnt sound plausible to me either. They reckon it can take some palladium and platinum with it.
