I've been paying to have fire assays done for decades. I'm planning to put together my own fire assay lab for my personal use. Moat of the fire assays will be performed on high sulfide gold/silver ores, particularly arsenical ores.

I'm thinking about purchasing the following books on the subject. I'd like input as to whether or not these books will be useful or if any are out dated or have bad info. Also, any additional suggestions will be appreciated.

1) Fire Assaying - Shepard and Dietrich
2) Textbook of fire Assaying - Bugbee
3) Textbook of Fire Assaying and Determination of Noble Metals in Geological Materials

These are excellent books dealing with the chemistry and general methods of fire assaying and sample preparation. However, they are a bit dated and as such will not contain a lot of information on more modern equipment like microbalances, AA's, ICP's, etc.
