Does anyone know of any classes, seminars, conferences that cover the fire assay lab?

The SMA has a yearly conference. I know that some years they include fire assay classes:
http://www.sma-online.org

Montana Tech also also offers some training:

There are also some videos and training offered by others, but I would be careful that you deal with reputable people. There a lot of hocus-pocus being taught...

book

Bugbee's book on fire assay is an excellent reference.
It covers all phases of fire assay from academic as well as practical information.
The last copy i purchased was from Legend in Sparks Nevada.

While Bugbee is an excellent text, some assayers prefer Shepard & Dietrich which may have a better section on fluxing:

Both are excellent assaying textbooks.

The SMA information is just what I was looking for. I am looking to have more contact with other people in our industry.

Thank you
